If you are obese, walking is the best starting point to a permanent exercise routine.
Walking every day for an hour at a slow pace can reset your body's weight point which helps to make you lean and thin. There are also heart healthy benefits to walking. Walking at only 40 minutes per day lowers your blood pressure. If you feel like you are botched for time then don't worry about it. Your heart and mind will reap the benefits of walking even at 10 minute intervals. Walking helps to rejuvenate your body and helps your heart work more efficiently.
What time of day you walk doesn't matter. I found walking in the morning easier because If I did not do it immediately, then I would end up pushing my walk completely off my schedule for the day. Start your day off with cup of water at room temperature that has a fresh lemon squeezed juice in it, and start your walk. Remember, you also get Vitamin D from the sun, not to mention it has been known that being in the sun can help relieve stress. But what's most important is to walk every day that you can.
Keep your walking pace steady and be sure to not overexert yourself. A walk where you can maintain a conversation is key. The speed of the walk should be between 2 to 4 miles per hour. You do not have to get your heart rate up.
